Domailo vs Microsoft 365

Quick answer: Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online charge per user and offer full Outlook, large mailboxes and shared mailboxes with no extra license. Domailo charges per organization and works in the browser. For those who live in Outlook and the Microsoft ecosystem, Exchange is more complete; for those who want simplicity and a fixed price for the team, Domailo is more straightforward.

How do you switch from Microsoft 365 to Domailo?

  1. Create your organization on Domailo and add the domain (the domain registration stays where it is).
  2. Create the mailboxes with the same addresses you use today and link the people on the team.
  3. Replace the MX, SPF and DKIM records in the DNS with the ones shown in the Domailo dashboard; from then on, new messages arrive on Domailo.
  4. Keep the Microsoft 365 account active for a few days to consult or export the history: Domailo does not import old messages.

Frequently asked questions

Does Domailo work in Outlook?

No. Domailo works in the browser, including on mobile, and does not offer IMAP/POP yet. If the team depends on installed Outlook, Microsoft 365 is the better fit.

Do shared mailboxes cost extra on Microsoft 365?

The shared mailbox itself needs no license up to 50 GB, but each person who accesses it needs a license. On Domailo, the people included in the plan can access the mailboxes linked to them.

Can I pay for Domailo monthly?

Yes. Domailo has a monthly plan with no lock-in and an annual plan paid upfront: 12 months for the price of 10.
