An AI email assistant for your business email: connect Claude and other assistants to your company mailboxes

Quick answer: Domailo runs an MCP server at https://domailo.app/mcp. Through it, Claude and other compatible assistants read, summarize, draft, send and schedule email in your company domain's mailboxes, always as the person who connected them and only in the mailboxes that person already opens. You connect with your Domailo login or a personal key.

How it works

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants use external tools. Domailo publishes 26 email tools, and the assistant picks which ones to call from what you ask in plain language.
In claude.ai, the connection uses your Domailo login (OAuth): you sign in, choose the organization and the access, read only or read and write, and allow it. Clients like Claude Code and Cursor use a personal key, created in Settings › AI integrations.
The assistant acts as you: it sees the same mailboxes you see in the webmail, and your role and permissions are checked again on every request. Every action is a tool call, which the assistant shows in the conversation and, in Claude's case, asks you to approve.

The 26 tools of the MCP server

With read-only access, the assistant only receives the read tools. Admin tools appear only for the owner and admins.

Read

listar_caixas: mailboxes you can open, with the count per domain, whether they can send, and the signature.
listar_emails: conversations in a folder (inbox, pending, resolved, archived, drafts, scheduled, spam or trash), 20 per page, searching subject and contact.
ler_email: up to the 100 most recent messages of a conversation, as text, with who on the team wrote each sent message.
ler_anexo: opens a received attachment: CSV, TXT and XML as text, images and PDF up to 5 MB.

Write and send

enviar_email: new email or reply, now or scheduled, with a key against duplicate sends.
salvar_rascunho: creates or updates a personal draft without sending anything.
enviar_rascunho: sends or schedules a draft.
descartar_rascunho: deletes one of your drafts.
cancelar_agendamento: turns a scheduled send back into a draft.
definir_minha_assinatura: sets your own signature, used on every email you send.

Organize

alterar_status: moves the conversation between inbox, pending, resolved, archived and spam.
mover_para_lixeira: moves the conversation to the trash.
restaurar: takes the conversation out of the trash or spam.
excluir_definitivamente: permanently deletes a conversation already in the trash or spam.

Administer (owner and admins only)

ver_plano: the organization's plan, limits and usage.
listar_dominios: domains, ownership, sending and receiving status, and pending DNS records.
listar_equipe: people, roles, each person's mailboxes, AI permissions and pending invitations.
adicionar_dominio: adds a domain and returns the TXT ownership record.
verificar_dominio: checks the DNS, like the Verify button in the dashboard.
excluir_dominio: removes a domain with no mailboxes.
criar_caixa: creates an address on a verified domain.
excluir_caixa: removes a mailbox, under the same rules as the dashboard.
definir_assinatura: sets a mailbox's signature.
convidar_pessoa: emails a single-use invitation.
cancelar_convite: cancels a pending invitation and frees the seat.
editar_acessos: changes a person's mailboxes and their permission to use AI.

Security and control

Each person creates their own connection or key and can revoke it at any time. Keys are stored only as a hash and shown once.
The admin decides who may use AI assistants. Removing that permission revokes the person's keys and connections right away.
Messages reach the assistant marked as third-party content, so it does not follow instructions written inside an email.
Per-person limits stop assistant loops: 60 sends and 120 drafts every 15 minutes. Sends accept an idempotency key, so repeating a call does not duplicate the email.

What MCP cannot do yet

Send attachments or HTML: the assistant sends plain text. Attachments and formatting are added to a draft in the webmail.
CC/BCC: each send goes to one recipient.
Change plans, connect Cloudflare or manage keys: these stay in the dashboard on purpose.
Filter by date or search message bodies: search looks at subject and contact, and the assistant uses the date of the last message.

Frequently asked questions

Which AI assistants work with Domailo?

We have tested Claude (claude.ai, with the connect button and OAuth sign-in) and Claude Code (with the personal key). Cursor and other clients that accept a remote MCP server with an authorization header use the same key. Other MCP-compatible clients, such as ChatGPT, may work, but we have not tested them yet.

Can the AI send email on my behalf?

Yes, if you grant read and write access. It sends now or schedules, with the mailbox signature. We recommend starting with drafts: the assistant writes, you review in the webmail and send. Assistants ask for approval before calling a tool.

Is it safe to give an AI access to company email?

Access belongs to the person, not the whole company: the assistant sees only the mailboxes that person already sees, with the role checked on every request, and the connection can be revoked at any time. What stays with you is choosing the assistant, reading its data policy, and not allowing sends without approval.

Do I need to code to use it?

No. In claude.ai you add the connector with the address https://domailo.app/mcp and sign in with your Domailo login. The key and the JSON configuration are only needed in developer clients like Claude Code and Cursor.

Is MCP included in every plan?

It is included in the Startup, Essential and Team plans and during the trial, at no extra cost. The assistant itself (Claude, Cursor and so on) is paid separately to whoever provides it.

How is this different from Gemini in Gmail or Copilot in Outlook?

Gemini and Copilot are the vendor's own assistants, charged per person on the plans that include them. With Domailo you use the assistant you already have, connected through an open standard, and it can read, draft, send, schedule and, for admins, manage mailboxes and the team.
